The county began January in Severe (D2) drought conditions, which persisted throughout the month.

Wider weather episode

Several systems from December into January brought moisture into much of Central Alabama. However, a good portion of southern and southwestern Central Alabama remained drier than counties to the north and south. As a result, Autauga and Marengo counties remained in Severe (D2) drought conditions throughout the month.
