Winds were sustained from 30 to 37 mph, with occasional gusts to 46 mph near Dovray and at Slayton.

The wider storm

An area of low pressure intensified lifting northward across Minnesota into southwestern Ontario and resulted in very strong winds across southwest Minnesota which gusted to 50 to 55 mph. Some limited moisture wrapped back southward with snowfall up to a couple tenths of an inch at most.
