Event narrative

Interstate 70 was shut down for a few hours across Kit Carson county due to blowing snow and reduction of visibilities. A few instances of blizzard conditions also occurred based on data from the Burlington Airport ASOS (KITR). A report of 2-3 inches of snow was reported in Burlington but was noted that it was extremely hard to get an accurate measurement due to the drifting.

Wider weather episode

A period of blowing snow and snow developed across portions of eastern Colorado with wind gusts around 40 mph and reported snow amounts of 2-3 inches.
