An upper-level trough and cold front swept through the region, bringing some light snowfall and gusty winds to much of the area. A period of heavy upslope snowfall occurred during the daytime and evening hours on the 11th across the higher elevations of the northern Black Hills. Snowfall totals there were 8 to 16 inches, with 2 to around 6 inches across the lower elevations. Snowfall totals of 1 to 4 inches were noted over much of the northern and northeastern foothills of the Black Hills. Gusty winds to over 40 mph on the 11th produced some blowing and drifting snow. The heavy snowfall over the higher elevations caused travel impacts.
