A report of golf ball size hail was relayed from Law Enforcement near the intersection of North Carolina Highway 96 and Old Highway 96 in Granville County.

An area of low pressure tracking from the Ohio Valley into the Middle Atlantic region bring a strong cold front through the region in the evening and overnight hours. Ahead of the cold front, a batch of strong to severe storms tracked into the Triad region and across the northern Piedmont and northern Coastal Plain. Golf ball size hail was reported in Granville County.
