Several locations reported minimum temperatures between 29 and 32 degrees on January 12 and between 27 and 31 degrees on January 13, 14 and 15.

A cold and dry airmass settled in over the San Joaquin Valley following the passage of a dry cold front on January 11. Winds diminished during the morning of January 12 and skies remained clear. This resulted in morning temperatures dropping below the freezing mark in rural areas across much of the San Joaquin Valley.
