Event narrative
The far northwest tip of the county was designated in Severe Drought (D2) at the beginning of the month, with the remainder of the county in Moderate Drought (D1). Above normal precipitation from October 29th through November 7th brought an end to the Severe Drought (D2) across the northwest tip of the county. The precipitation total at Shawano during this period was 4.58 inches. Additional precipitation during the latter half of the month resulted in Shawano County being designated in Abnormally Dry (D0) across the north and no designation of any drought across the south at the end of the month.
Wider weather episode
Drought that developed in September continued across northern Wisconsin into November. Above normal precipitation brought an end to the Severe Drought (D2) across portions of northern Wisconsin during the month.
