Event narrative

The zone began November completely in Severe(D2) drought. By the end of the month, the northern half of the zone was placed in Moderate(D1) drought. The Cloudcroft Cooperative Observer reported 3.41 inches of precipitation which was 2.03 inches above normal.

Wider weather episode

Most areas in the region received well above normal precipitation in November. This lead to some improvements in drought conditions, especially across Sierra and northern Otero counties.
