Drought November 1, 2024 – November 26, 2024 · Benton, Indiana

The wider storm

Severe drought conditions carried into November from an abnormally dry October. However, frequent bouts of rain improved drought conditions throughout the first few weeks of November. The 4th and 5th were major contributors to the improving conditions with all of northwest Indiana having received anywhere between 1 and 2.5 of rain. The Porter County Airport in Valparaiso recorded 2.25 of rain over those two days and 3.64 for the entire month, 1.2 more than its monthly average.
