Event narrative

The Washington Department of Transportation reported blizzard like conditions via social media for over 3 hours along Interstate 90 in Snoqualmie pass. A trained spotter 25 miles southwest of South Cle Elum reported 14 inches of new snow by 0700 PST on November 20th. The White Pass SNOTEL reported 12 inches of new snow in a 14 hour period ending 0400 on November 20th.

Wider weather episode

A strong band of SW flow aloft associated with a deep offshore low allowed for very strong wind gusts to occur across the foothills of the Blue Mountains during the overnight period of November 19-20. This system also produced heavy snow and blizzard like conditions along portions of the east slopes of the Cascades.
