Event narrative

The storm began early on the 5th, with primarily sleet and snow falling through the morning. After a brief break in the afternoon, more snow fell in the evening. A total of 6 to 11 inches of snow and sleet fell across the county. As much as 1 inch of this fell in the form of sleet.

Wider weather episode

A potent winter storm brought a mix of wintry precipitation to much of the state. More southerly locations saw significant freezing rain and numerous power outages. Northern locations saw several inches of snow and blowing snow. In between a mix of sleet and snow fell. All areas saw significant travel impacts from the wintry precipitation.
