Visibility of one eighth of a mile was reported in Merced and Madera. Webcams indicated visibility below 1000 feet in Merced and Madera.

Areas of dense fog formed in the San Joaquin Valley most noticeably along the SR 99 corridor north of Fresno as some low level moisture advected into the San Joaquin Valley during the morning of January 20. The fog lifted into a low cloud deck by late morning and completely dissipated by early afternoon.
