Steady snow showers led to up to three inches of snow being reported in several locations across Lee County, including by a CoCoRaHS station in Jonesville, 2.6 inches by a trained spotter also in Jonesville, 3 inches from a public report in Rose Hill, and 0.6 inches by the CO-OP observer in Pennington Gap.

An upper level shortwave pivoting through the mean flow enhanced a typical northwest flow setup for snow and brought accumulating snow to both lower and higher elevations of southwestern Virginia.
