A public report of 4 inches of snow was measured in Glade Spring. Elsewhere in the county, broadcast media reported 1 inch of snow at 1900 feet of elevation in Bristol, 1 inch of snow was reported by a CoCoRaHS station in Abingdon, and 1.5 inches of snow reported by a trained spotter in Abingdon.

An upper level shortwave pivoting through the mean flow enhanced a typical northwest flow setup for snow and brought accumulating snow to both lower and higher elevations of southwestern Virginia.
