Overnight low temperatures fell to between -20 F and -25 F across northern Sioux County from 1/19 into 1/21, with daytime highs generally remaining under 5 F during the afternoon on 1/20. The cold temperatures combined with gusty winds resulted in a prolonged period of extreme wind chills under -40 F. Minimum observed wind chill values reached -50 F at NEDOR sensor 10 W Fort Robinson at 8:43 AM MST on 1/20.
