Overnight low temperatures ranged from -10 F to -15 F across Converse County from 1/20 into 1/21, with daytime highs generally remaining below 0 F during the afternoon on 1/20. The cold temperatures combined with gusty winds resulted in a prolonged period of extreme wind chills under -35 F. Minimum observed wind chill values reached -41 F at Mesonet Station DW7426 (5 miles WSW of Douglas) at 7:10 AM MST on 1/20.
