Overnight low temperatures fell to between -15 F and -20 F across central Laramie County from 1/20 into 1/21, with daytime highs generally remaining under 5 F during the afternoon on 1/20. The cold temperatures combined with gusty winds resulted in a prolonged period of extreme wind chills under -30 F. Minimum observed wind chill values reached -35 F at the Cheyenne East WYDOT sensor (9 E Cheyenne) at 7:18 AM MST on 1/20.

A strong arctic front brought prolonged frigid temepratures to southeast Wyoming Friday, January 17 through the early morning of Tuesday, January 21. The coldest temperatures occured Sunday night and Monday night.
