A passing cold front brought gusty northwest winds and areas of light snow to much of western South Dakota. Periods of heavier upslope enhanced snowfall developed over the northern Black Hills on the 22nd. Snowfall totals of 4 to 8 inches were common from Lead and Deadwood to Cheyenne Crossing and O'Neill Pass. Some areas across the northern Foothills received 2 to 4 inches. The gusty winds produced blowing and drifting snow, along with some travel impacts across the area.
