A light snow fell for several hours, resulting in light snowfall accumulations. Two CoCoRaHS stations reported snow, with 0.4 inches and 0.7 inches measured, both in Jonesville.

Wider weather episode

A shortwave trough, embedded in a larger longwave upper trough, was the lifting source necessary to produce a light snow across the southernmost portions of southwestern Virginia.
