Alpine weather station in the Bridger range estimated 9 inches new snow. Start time was estimated.

Warm air advection aloft in advance of an approaching Pacific trough allowed for mainly light, but localized heavy snow to develop across the region December 29th into the 30th. A band of snow developed across Southwest Montana early in the event and progressed northward, but never stalled anywhere for too long, thus only resulting in localized heavy snow reports.
