Event narrative

Light snow fell across the Juneau area throughout the daytime on Nov. 26th with 3 to 5 inches reported, some of which included snow from the previous evening. Snowfall rates then increased through the night of the 26th with an average of 3 inches measured in each 6 hour period between 3pm to 9am the following morning, reaching 9 inches in that 18 hour period.

Wider weather episode

Northerly outflow advanced south of Juneau and maintained temperatures just cold enough for snow to stack up over a 24 hour period as low pressure slowly tracked SE across the eastern gulf and spread moisture over the area.
