A winter storm produced 6 to 8 inches of snow across Perry County, with snowfall beginning during the morning hours of January 19, 2025 and continuing through the evening.

Low pressure off the Mid-Atlantic Coast began to form during the morning hours of January 19, 2025 allowing for ample lift and moisture to begin across eastern Pennsylvania generally tapering off during the late evening hours. Low to mid level frontogenesis allowed for a band of heavier snow to form across portions of Lancaster, York, and Lebanon counties that began to shift northeastward into Schuylkill County during the early afternoon hours. The highest snowfall totals across eastern Pennsylvania were observed across Lebanon County, where snowfall totals generally ranged between 8 to 9 inches with slightly lower totals observed across Lancaster and York counties. Enhanced westerly flow with the coastal low stationed east of central Pennsylvania allowed for orographically induced snowfall to continue across portions of Somerset County into the morning hours of January 20, 2025 bringing localized higher totals in upslope locations, where observations exceeded 11 inches, with 15.7 inches of snowfall was observed in Laurel Summit.
