Coastal Flood in West Cameron, Louisiana
Coastal Flood November 9, 2024 – November 10, 2024 · West Cameron, Louisiana
What the National Weather Service wrote
Strong south winds ahead of a cold front and the remnants of Rafael in the gulf produced high tides along the coast of Cameron Parish. The tide level reached 2.1 feet above MHHW which produced minor flooding of Highway 82 near Holly Beach and some secondary roads in Holly Beach.
The wider storm
A frontal boundary moved into the region and stalled while Tropical Storm Rafael meandered in the gulf. Moisture from the decaying tropical cyclone streamed north across Louisiana. This produced heavy rain over the area that produced flooding.
