A surge of arctic air occurred on the evening of the 18th which was able to produce light snowfall for areas on the Caprock. Although moisture totals generally only added up to a trace to few hundredths of an inch of liquid equivalent, this yielded a dusting to a half inch of snow for many locations of the South Plains. A few locations measured around or slightly greater than an inch of snowfall.

Snowfall reports from NWS cooperative weather observers are listed below:

1.4 inches at Post (Garza County),

1.2 inches at Shallowater (Lubbock County),

1.0 inch at Muleshoe (Bailey County), and

1.0 inch at Morton (Cochran County).
