Event narrative

December began with D2 Severe Drought conditions across the southern third of the county. Precipitation at the end of November led to the removal of D2 Severe Drought in the county with the update on the 3rd, leaving D1 Moderate Drought in place across the entire county. No additional changes were observed over the remainder of the month. Precipitation for the month was near normal to a half inch above normal, highest over the southern part of the county.

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions continued to improve across northwestern Wisconsin during the early part of December. All areas of D2 Moderate Drought were removed with the update on the 3rd. Precipitation for the month was near to slightly above normal across the region.
