Wider weather episode

A drier airmass pushed southward into central California on January 27. With mainly clear skies and light winds prevailing across the San Joaquin Valley, temperatures dropped below the freezing mark at several stations during the morning of January 28. With little change in airmass over the next two days, temperatures dropped below the freezing mark across much of the valley again during the mornings of January 29 and 30 before the airmass moderated some on January 30.
