The Cascade Summit SNOTEL at 5100 ft recorded 15 inches of snowfall between 1600 12/25 and 1800 12/26 with 12 inches hit at 0900 12/26, and the Roaring River SNOTEL recorded 12 inches of snowfall between 0800 12/25 and 2200 12/26 with 12 inches hit at 2200 12/26.
Wider weather episode
A strong cold frontal boundary followed by an unsettled period of lower snow-level and the arrival of a potent secondary low pressure system brought heavy snow to the Cascades and high winds to the coast.
