The mesonet station PACCTY-2 Pacific City measured a peak gust of 67 mph at 12/25 2248 PST, and was near or above 58 mph 12/25 2200 to 12/26 0400. The ASOS/AWOS station KTMK also measured a peak gust of 59 mph at 12/26 0335.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold frontal boundary followed by an unsettled period of lower snow-level and the arrival of a potent secondary low pressure system brought heavy snow to the Cascades and high winds to the coast.
