The mesonet station EW1135 Yachats measured a peak gust of 71 mph at 12/25 2300 PST, and was near or above 58 mph 12/25 2200 to 12/26 0200. Additionally the mesonet station ODT38 Yaquina Bay Bridge measured a peak gust of 76 mph at 12/25 2315 PST, and was near or above 58 mph 12/25 2000 to 12/26 0500.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold frontal boundary followed by an unsettled period of lower snow-level and the arrival of a potent secondary low pressure system brought heavy snow to the Cascades and high winds to the coast.
