Tempest station in the Neuse River just south of Minnesott Beach recorded a wind gust of 44 knots. Report came in via WeatherFlow.

A cold front swept eastwards across Eastern North Carolina on the morning of February 1st. As this front moved through the area, isolated thunderstorm activity developed along the front and also raced eastwards during the morning hours of the 1st. Some of these storms became strong in nature bringing damaging wind gusts to portions of the Neuse, Bay, and Pamlico Rivers, as well as portions of the southern Pamlico Sound.
