COOP observer in the town of Kit Carson reported visibilities in blowing dust down to around 250 yards in town. He did mention that the visibilities improved by the time of the report. No information is known about the start time of the dust but based on surrounding observations winds began gusting above 58 mph around 10:43 local time.

Wider weather episode

Strong winds developed across portions of eastern Colorado during the day. Wind gusts ranging from 54 mph to 65 mph were recorded across Cheyenne county. The strong winds also led to some dust storm conditions near the town of Kit Carson.
