Numerous wind gusts in excess of 50 mph were observed, including a wind gust of 62 mph in Malone.

Wider weather episode

Strong low pressure was located across Hudson and James Bay on January 27th while a cold front from this system approached northern NY. Strong WSW wind gusts of 45 to 60+ mph accompanied the front across northern NY which led to scattered power outages.
