An arctic cold front passed through the region, bringing very cold temperatures from the 18th to the morning of the 21st. The coldest temperatures and lowest wind chills were during the overnight and morning hours of the 20th. Temperatures dropped to 10 below to 30 below zero in many areas, with northerly winds of 15 to over 30 mph producing wind chill values as low as 30 below to around 50 below zero.
