2025-01-30 · C & E Adams & Arapahoe Counties, Colorado

Event narrative

No reports from the zone were relayed. However, based on radar and a 6 inch reports southwest of Deer Trail, one can reasonably assume at least 6 inches fell across eastern parts of the zone. I-70 was closed east of Denver between Exit 295 and Exit 292 for Airpark Road west of Watkins, according to CDOT.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system strengthened over eastern Colorado during the morning hours of January 30th. This brought snow showers to the eastern plains and southern part of the Denver area. A band of moderate to heavy snow brought localized snowfall amounts of up to 8 inches, which created difficult travel on I-70 east of Denver.
