Ice Storm in Garrett, Maryland

Localized amounts upwards of one half inch of freezing rain were observed across eastern Garrett County. MD SHA reported dozens of downed trees across the county due to ice.

As an area of low pressure moved north across the Ohio Valley, cold air remained to the east of the Alleghenies. This resulted in a period of freezing rain for most of the state, with a long duration mix of freezing rain and sleet across western Maryland. Ice accumulations ranged from a quarter inch across most of western Maryland, a tenth to two tenths across central Maryland, and a trace to few hundredths along the I-95 corridor.
