Winter Weather in Northwest Montgomery, Maryland

Winter Weather February 5, 2025 – February 6, 2025 · Northwest Montgomery, Maryland

The wider storm

As an area of low pressure moved north across the Ohio Valley, cold air remained to the east of the Alleghenies. This resulted in a period of freezing rain for most of the state, with a long duration mix of freezing rain and sleet across western Maryland. Ice accumulations ranged from a quarter inch across most of western Maryland, a tenth to two tenths across central Maryland, and a trace to few hundredths along the I-95 corridor.
