Wider weather episode

A slow moving area of low pressure and warm frontal boundary produced repetitive rounds of rain across the warning area on the morning and afternoon of February 6, 2025. The heavy rain initiated back across central West Virginia where several Flash flood emergencies and warnings were issued. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches were reported across the warning location. Elevated streamflows combined with frozen ground led to increased runoff into Seneca Creek as well as the North Fork of the South Branch Potomac River.
