Public reports trees uprooted or snapped and a roof blown off in Kirkland.

Wider weather episode

A rapidly deepening area of low pressure passing over the offshore waters of Western Washington produce very strong easterly winds across portions of Western Washington. The unusual direction of the wind combined with the strength produced extensive tree damage in the Puget Sound region that resulted in damaged homes and vehicles, widespread prolonged power outages, and 2 fatalities from fallen trees.
