After about a twelve hour hiatus between steady snow events, a new prolonged period of lake effect snow developed downwind of Lake Ontario during the afternoon of Friday, the 6th, and continued through Saturday, the 7th, before tapering off later Saturday night. The snow came down heavy at times and primarily fell near and north of the NYS Thruway.
