A Facebook report of 5 E Clayton reported 0.5 inches of ice from a combination of freezing rain, freezing drizzle, and riming from freezing fog on a small tree branch was occurring. There was also the mention that several small tree branches were breaking from the ice. Law enforcement in the town of Norton also reported 2.5 inches of snow.

Wider weather episode

A winter storm consisting of a mixture of freezing drizzle, freezing fog resulting in thick rime ice and light snow occurred across NW Kansas. Reports of up to one half inch in radial ice accumulation was reported via social media pictures across the area along with snow up to 2 inches.
