Event narrative

Multiple reports of icy roads, and driveways due to the freezing rain. MDT hoisted severe driving conditions for Highway 135. A person reported that it was a sheet of ice with multiple cars losing control, including a semi-truck that had crossed the center line and ended up in the wrong lane.

Wider weather episode

Very cold ground temperatures combined with rainfall caused wet roads to ice up from north-central Idaho into western Montana.
