Several locations reported minimum temperatures between 29 and 32 degrees each day between February 9 and February 11.

Wider weather episode

Following the departure on an upper trough on February 8 that brought widespread precipitation to the area during the previous two days, a cold and dry airmass settled over the area and resulted is widespread sub-freezing minimum temperatures in the San Joaquin Valley north of Kern County on February 9. Upslope clouds kept temperatures above the freezing mark in the much of the center portion of the valley the following two mornings although although most of Merced County and western Fresno County had sub-freezing minimum temperatures on February 10 and February 11.
