Event narrative

Lincoln county dispatch reported trees down along Hwy 79.

Wider weather episode

A strong trough and associated cold front pushed the region during the morning of February 16th causing scattered wind damage as result of both gradient and severe thunderstorm winds. The line of heavy showers and thunderstorms was preceded by extremely impressive winds both aloft and near the surface. While instability remained limited, it was sufficient to produce a thin line of thunderstorms which mixed down damaging wind gusts.
