An area of surface low pressure tracked across North Carolina with the upper level system across the Northeast. Favorable jet dynamics produced a swath of 2 to 5 inches of snow northwest of Interstate 95, with 5 to 12 inches south and east of Interstate 95. Snow rates exceeded 1 inch an hour at times along and south of US-50.
