Winter Weather — Extreme Western Allegany, Maryland

2025-02-12 to 2025-02-13 · Extreme Western Allegany, Maryland

Wider weather episode

Behind the snow event on February 11 - 12, cold air rushed in behind. This cold air remained wedged in place as an area of low pressure moved west of the Appalachians. This resulted in a prolonged period of freezing rain, especially in western Maryland and along the Mason-Dixon. Freezing rain accumulations ranged from a coating to tenth across Washington and eastern Allegany counties to around two tenths of an inch in Garrett and western Allegany County.
