High Wind in Mojave Desert Slope(s), California

The Southern California Edison station at Paradise Cove measured a peak wind gust of 58 mph.

Winds increased along the Mojave Desert Slopes and in the south end of the Southern Sierra Nevada between the morning of February 17 and February 18 as a slow moving low pressure system moved across the Great Basin with an associated cold front pushing southward through central California. As a result, several stations measured wind gusts exceeding 45 mph with a few stations reporting brief gusts above 60 mph.
