Clovis Municipal Airport observed apparent temperatures as low as 12 below zero around sunrise.

Wider weather episode

A modified Arctic airmass entered and settled into eastern NM on February 18th. The airmass was reinforced heading into the morning hours of February 19th in the wake of a disturbance. Record low temperatures were observed in Clayton, Tucumcari, and Roswell. Dangerously cold apparent temperatures as low as 18 below zero were observed near the Texas border with apparent temperatures at Clovis Municipal Airport meeting warning criteria. Apparent temperatures slowly warmed up above warning and advisory criteria by the late morning hours.
