The mesonet station AS881 4 miles east northeast of Mission recorded a 63 mph gust at 2315 PST on December 13th. The mesonet station OD181 5 miles south southeast of Mission recorded a 61 mph gust at 2316 PST on December 13th.

An approaching warm front resulted in a strong pressure gradient across the Blue Mountains, which induced strong winds near the base of the Northern Blue Mountains.
