Event narrative

Montana mesonet station Dog Gun Lake E (ACEDOGGU) measured a 76 mph gust. Additionally, mesonet sensors at Two Medicine Bridge and in the Browning area (Browning RAWS) measured gusts of 58 mph or greater.

Wider weather episode

Upper level troughing initially brought a round of strong winds across Central and North-central Montana before the event transitioned to a long duration snowfall event, mostly for the mountains and northerly upslope areas of Central Montana. Areas in the Bears Paw and around Lewistown received 2 feet of new snow or more.
