An occluded surface low drifted eastward from southern Lake Huron toward western Lake Ontario during the early morning through early afternoon of the 18th as the trailing cold front swept southeastward across Lake Erie, northeast OH, and northwest PA. Scattered rain showers accompanied the front as it encountered sufficient moisture and weak MUCAPE over Lake Erie. The updraft of one of these showers spawned a non-mesocyclonic waterspout offshore Cuyahoga and Lake Counties in northeast OH.
